Water Leaking In
Hi all...

I have a problem where I am getting a lot of water leaking into the front drivers and passengers side (when it rains obviously), coming in from under the dash somewhere onto the ground. On the passengers side I noticed it coming in through the top of the blower motor, then onto ...

Re: Alternator overcharging - 4JG2
Sooo some success... after attempting to solder the rectifier to the windings and having no luck with doing so (I purchased what I thought would be a grunty enough 100w solder iron - but still not hot enough to attach to those big ears). I took it to Tower Auto in Christchurch for them to put it in ...

Re: Alternator overcharging - 4JG2
Thats good to know it it shouldn't cause much grief and yes I have had everything I can running so I am hoping doesn't get worse and start blowing things up...I guess the first thing to go would be the battery and other things like ABS etc.
Thanks pig!

Alternator overcharging - 4JG2
I have a bit of an issue with my Wizard 4jg2 where it overcharges at times. When you start up and idle it will sit at about 14v but when you get out on the road and put a load up it it can peak it 16v + for short moments of high RPM. Things I have tried thus far...

- Looked at and changed ...

Brinky - how did you get on with that Aliexpress pump? I haven't had the courage in buying anything from Aliexpress/chinese re-manufactures in regards to car parts but am interested to see how it worked out for you. I may need a new turbo in the near future and currently 50/50 on the idea.

Re: Heater/blower not working
Soo got a little tied up remedying a alternator issue which turned into a complete rebuild of the thing...how annoying are alternators to get all back together lol.

Now back to my original issue - good fun these older trucks huh! I tried all the fuses and relays as stardog recommended but ...
