I picked up a front auto locker off Geeves who originally got it of Lewis.
Was from an MU so the diff mounts were different so you can't swap a complete MU diff into a Bighorn.
Swapped the locker over into my diff and got it running. Took longer than expected. Had to drop the lower balljoint on each side, take hub apart and remove lock ring off axle, disconnect the inner CV lock ring, withdraw axles. Undo steering draglink and remove. Undo four diff mounts and lower diff out.
Reassemble in reverse.
Went for a hard run yesterday, diff just crawled up everything. Was really awesome. Turning at low speed can be very difficult. Tight corners are a pain, they always were with my LWB but even more so now. Worth the trade off though.
Had to do a few recoveries of capable trucks, Patrol and Pajero both well kitted out. Locker is great.
Thinking about a front locker, do it.
Matt.

Re: Front auto locker fitted
Yup they good aye now for the rear
Re: Front auto locker fitted
more throttle and locker in the back makes lwb bighorns go around corners, they trtansform the truck though well worth the money
Re: Front auto locker fitted
I put a lokka in the front diff not long after I got my MU best thing since sliced bread just idles up hills don't have to worry about hitting them flat out to get up them.
Re: Front auto locker fitted
hey mattmannz, funny that I was thinking going the other way. Taking out the auto on my 92/93 bighorn & using MU manuals to do so. Reason being my auto's keep on popping out!!! I must point out I'm a bit of a newbie! Do I check the auto's out or swop?
Re: Front auto locker fitted
I think you mean free wheel hubs not lockers.
Free wheel hubs join the hubs to the axles. Lockers join the axles together.
As for your question fitting manual hubs from a Mu will work very well
