Diesel pump for a manual conversion

Hi Team,

My Bighorn has a manual gearbox conversion but is still using the original auto diesel pump. I've had the pump and injectors reconditioned but the auto pump cannot be adjusted anymore to idle below 900RPM. What have others done with the pump after a manual conversion? What are the differences between the pumps from a manual vs. auto gearbox?

Regards,

JP

As long as yours is a non electronic version which should be the case in a 94 all there should be was a throttle position sensor and maybe an fast idle solinoid which would be external. Try disconecting the vacumm from the solinoid on the pump and seeing if that makes a diffeerence. 900 is ok though although not perfect. How were you measuring speed? Im not sure how accurate the factoy rev counter is

I thought the same but the guy who reconditioned the pump and injectors said he couldn't get it down to 650rmp. I'm going to look into geeves suggestions this weekend
