looking for Holden Monterey
I'd like to find a moderately low-mileage Holden Monterey (post 2000, prefer petrol) to replace my aging Isuzu Bighorn. Any suggestions?

Cape Palliser to White Rock - is it possible
Hi, I know it's short notice but I have visitors and was planning on going to Cape Palliser tomorrow (Saturday 31 Dec 2016) and just realised a 4WD trek up to White Rock might be a nice off-road drive for them? Is this currently possible? Easy? Are gates locked? Thanks for any advice. Cheers. Des.

Limited slip diff for 2002 Bighorn
I suspect this is a pretty dumb question, but am I correct in thinking that a 3.5L 2002 Bighorn having "Torque on Demand" does not remove the desirability of having a limited slip diff for off-road work?
I can see that more modern computer-controlled taction systems have probably superseded the ...

Rear door mounting of spare wheel on Wizard
Could somebody please tell if my observation is correct, that diesel Wizards have rear-door mounted spare wheels but petrol ones do not?
My interest is because as a mounatin biker I have found that a spare-wheel mounted bike rack (eg from Thule) is MUCH better than a tow-bar mounted bike rack ...

speed sensor advice - threading and the brass drive thingy
Just two cautionary notes on speed sensors - at least for 1993 v6 Bighorn:
(1) I bought a new speed sensor (cheap) off Trademe, that wouldn't screw on. I got another, used of course, at Pic-A-Part, also cheap, that screwed on with no problem. On inspecting them the thread pitches on each were ...

Re: Screech then fluttering sound - thank you
Dear Geeves - a very late thank-you for your advice, and the sound went away by itself - I guess the stone kept wearing until it got smaller and fell out!. But I did discover something about speed sensors (their threading) that I will post in the appropraite Forum. Cheers, Des

WTB: Isuzu Bighorn or Holden Monterey later than 2000
I'm looking to replace my 1993 v6 3.2L Bighorn with the newest model I can find, probably 2004 3.5L petrol, but a bit earlier, eg as old as 2000, would do. Holden Monterey, or Vauxhall ???(I've forgotten), also OK of course.

Re: Screech then fluttering sound
Thanks Jeeves. Today I jacked up one wheel at a time and on rotating each I couldn't hear anything strange. I also looked around the drive shaft (not when it was on the jack!) and nothing was hung up on it. I then confirmed a suspicion by running it donwhill, in neutral with the engine off, both ...

Screech then fluttering sound
Bighorn 1993, V6 petrol, no turbo, auto trans: Several months ago I had a screech (yes a real screech) that lasted for some minutes, and then it stopped and has never come back. But since then there has been a sort of "fluttering sound" at most vehicle speeds, but never when the vehicle is ...
