Me ol’ Mu

Post by SamMu93 »

Seeing as Ive never posted my truck in here but Ive talked about many mods, it seems long overdue to post my rig up on this page!

Had this Mu for over 3years now and the mods are slowing down but havnt stopped yet!

Best mod that cant be seen is the front Lokka - mechanical - works amazingly well!

Heres a pic of the new wheels I just purchaced (should have got some muds a long time ago)

That's a clean MU mate!
Good to see another 2.8L still going strong.
It's getting harder to find parts from wreckers these days...

Cheers,
Andy

The mod list is ever growing but heres most of them:

93 Isuzu Mu 2.8 TD
Rodeo 3" dump pipe off turbo
2.5" Exhaust to tip
Bighorn intercooler
Electric fan mounted on intercooler
Tweaked fuel pump (1.5turns if I remember correctly)
Boost tap (16psi)
Egt monitor installed
Rear: extended shackles installed - stock leaf springs
Front: Wound torsion bars, dropped front diff, flipped ball joints, cut upper bump stop
33” mud tyres that dont rub at all - that I have noticed so far
Lokka brand mechanical diff locker install in the front - works amazingly well!
Rear diff has a factory LSD
Front bull bar has a led light bar installed in it- had the led bar on the roof but that was terrible!
Custom built oil filter housing - this was required for the 3” dump pipe to fit

Next mod planned is a better front bar with a winch
Also need to replace my tow hooks, currently just have factory ones installed

Hi Sam, Good looking Mu. Can you remember if the front Lokka is a ISU-FO-83? I'm keen to put one of these in my 92 Mu. They sound like a pain to install but well worth the effort. If I knew how to attach a photo of my front winch bar I would. Cheers Paul

After all that pissing around with the leaf springs (iron man & dobson leafs) I am pretty happy with the stock leafs + shackles as long as your arm combo. Ride is soft and height matches the front! 33” tyres and no rub.
Glad to be past that mod...!

Front and rear are exactly the same height now- the front cant go any higher without becoming a solid front axle! Then the rear with be leaf over axle... will save those mods for another day.

Hi Sam, have you done a body lift as well as the suspension lift? I think I'll do the rear Lokka only. I'm a bit scared to do the front. Your Mu looks great with some mud on it.
